Say hello to a new way to do bridal for 2017.  Pamela and Andrea, the duo behind the brilliant pandamakeup.co.uk show you how to make this season’s catwalk looks wearable for your wedding day. Read on for our top bridal makeup trends…

Plaits

It’s the year of the plait, they appeared on countless spring/summer 2017 catwalks in all different forms and we think they will be a big hit with this years brides. Not only are they hugely romantic but they are very versatile. From mini plaits, plaited buns, boho pigtails and fairytale french braids there’s a plait to suit everyone.  We loved what we saw at Roberto Cavalli, Valentino and Dior.

Thinking about giving this a go? Dry your hair using a beachy texture spray then add a few mini plaits with tiny gold rings looped in and you’re done, delicate and pretty! We recommend John Frieda Sea Salt Spray.

The New Smokey Eye

The classic smokey eye has had a revamp and we love it! Forget the perfectly blended smokey eye tutorials you’ve seen on Instagram and think lived in, smudgy effortless eyes. Not only is this super sexy and cool but it’s the easiest thing to recreate even for a make-up novice. We love MAC Technakohl in Alpha Grey.

Use your favourite kohl pencil (we recommend browns and greys for you brides) then scribble it over the lids and use a tiny bit of vaseline to blend. Team it up with a natural glowey base and a touch of rose lipstick patted on the lips and cheeks. We liked what we saw at Balmain and Christopher Kane.

Bare Skin Beauty

The look that will always work and never get boring! The bare faced look is back and was seen all over the SS17 catwalks. The secret in getting this look right is all about skin prep, drinking plenty of water so your skin is hydrated, exfoliating and moisturising.

Once you’re skin is silky smooth apply a tinted moisturiser and a touch of concealer where needed. If you need a heavier coverage we suggest Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic foundation for a full flawless coverage. With this clean and fresh look we suggest grooming your brows, adding a light coat of mascara, a peachy crème blush and matching lip stain. We love peach, it’s such a universal colour and works beautifully on all skin tones. It’s hard to choose what designer achieved this look the best but Michael Kors and Vera Wang did a great job.

Glitter

Glitter got sophisticated on the catwalk shows at Fendi,  Marc Jacobs and DKNY. We think shimmer and sparkle if worn in the right way is a winner for this years brides!  The designers used it in many different ways from sparkley nails, glitter lips, glitter eyeliner and eyeshadows.

Why don’t you give it a go? It’s a lot more wearable then you think! All you need to do is cover your lips with your favourite gloss then use your ring finger to pat on a little bit of glitter through the centre of your lips.

We would team this up with a slick winged eyeliner and a natural bare skin, only using a hint of blush and bronzer.  Its in Your Dreams sell some amazing glitter pots!

Ear Accessories

It’s time to ditch the flower crowns and embrace the new trend of embellishing and enhancing your ears! On the catwalk shows we saw big dramatic earrings, ear cuffs, ears getting painted in glitter, vibrant yellows and even pretty flowers stuck onto the lobes and the face.  The hair was pulled back letting the ears be one of the main features. We loved what we saw at Bottega Venta and Giamba!

We think wearing some over sized earings and having your hair in a soft bun with natural make up give any bridal look a nod to the catwalk.
