Our bride Shannon was married in the beautiful Kings Lynn in Norfolk. We got Shannon ready at Strattons Hotel which is an independent family run boutique hotel. The decoration inside is very traditional with a lovely warming and homely feel about it. The hotels rooms were big and spacious which is something we are always relived to see!
Shannon contacted us because the only make up item she wore everyday was a pair of fake eyelashes! She told us that she could see from our portfolio that we loved enhancing natural beauty and that’s what made her choose us for her bridal make up. Shannon knew she wanted to keep her skin really natural and although she was unsure how she wanted her eyes, she knew she wanted them to stand out but without them looking too made up at the same time.

We tried quite a few different eye shadow colours and shapes during Shannon’s bridal make up trial before we go the right one, she then took her chosen eye makeup for a test run that night to see what her friends thought they loved it-luckily! So this was the chosen eye make up for the big day.
Shannon wanted a long lasting matte foundation base which would last all day and require minimal touch ups. We used NARS Pore and Shine Control primer all over the skin especially working it into the t-zone where she suffered the most with oil coming through.

For foundation we used NARS Velvet matte Skin Tint, even though it’s only a tinted moisturiser it has a matte finish and great staying power but still leaves the skin looking like skin, this was perfect for Shannon. Shannon also loved the flushed cheeks look, even though this was more blusher than she was used to, it worked really well with the rest of the makeup and warmed up the whole face.
Shannon wanted her bridal makeup to have a matte finish overall but we still wanted to put a subtle glow through the cheek bones as a very matte look can sometimes be unflattering. We used Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder Duo this lit up the skin but with a soft powdery finish rather than a dewy one.

Shannon wanted slightly heavier eyes than she would normally go for so we applied a thin gel liner to just to define the lash line on the top lid. For eye shadow we used the mid brown shade from Charlotte Tilbury’s Sophisticate eye shadow pallet, we ran this through the crease line and half way across the lid to create a soft defined eye shadow which enhanced her eyes without changing them too much. Shannon had permanent lash extensions already for the day which perfectly complimented the rest of the eye make up.
To finish the look we pressed in extra truculent powder through the t-zone and added a pop of a peachy pink nude on the lips. We hope you’ll agree shes look gorgeous!
