As wedding makeup artists we’ve been lucky enough to visit many amazing wedding venues across the UK but we have to say, a lot of our favourite venues are in the county of Kent. We love Kent for weddings because there is such a vast selection of venues! It can be a difficult decision for a Bride and Groom to make as there’s plush city hotels, sea view venues, stately homes and barnyards to choose from. We’ve collated a list of our favourites that we have worked at over the years.
Salomons Estate – Turnbride Wells
Situated just two miles outside the spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells, Salomons Estate is a stunning Victorian mansion, designed by the acclaimed architect Decimus Burton. It has a whopping 36 acres of garden & parkland, so its your perfect country wedding venue that is still really easy to get to from London. Some of the estates offerings include a Victorian theater, seating up to 230 guests and an intricately decorated Gold Room, an intimate function with direct access to the gardens.

Winters Barn – Canterbury
Built in 1660, Winters Barn provides the ideal backdrop for stunning photos and intimate moments. It’s based just on the southern outskirts of Canterbury and is surrounded by open fields and beautiful views, yet still close to city. You can either hold your wedding in the beautiful rustic barns which still contain much of their original features, or outside in their stunning courtyards with the 100 year old apple bramley trees and wedding arch. There is also two local churches church in Nackington and Lower Hardres.

Leeds Castle – Maidstone
If you are looking for a historic venue for your wedding day then Leeds Castle is the one for you. If the incredible backdrop of the castle for your wedding photos wasn’t enough, it offers of a variety of award winning venues all within the castle. Whether you are looking for something more intimate or a grand castle wedding they have got you covered. The magnificent state rooms provide the perfect setting for each stage of your perfect day. During Lady Baillie’s ownership, the grand bridal suites were used as guest accommodation for Hollywood film stars, musicians, politicians and members of royalty!

Bradbourne House is located just an hour away from London and set amongst twenty acres of rolling Kent parkland. This magnificent country house wedding venue holds its original character with elegant interiors but also has a very modern and stylish feel to it also. If you are lucky enough to have amazing weather the grounds also boast a tranquil lake, waterfall and thriving gardens making the perfect backdrop for your wedding photography. If the weather is not behaving or you would prefer something inside Bradborune offer a choice of different stylish entertaining spaces in which to host your day. Bradborune’s individually-styled, interconnecting spaces create a wonderfully natural flow from room to room, to ensure your special days flows with ease.

Turner Contemporary – Margate
If your looking for a blank canvas that you can completely make your own this venue is for you! Set just along Margate’s coast line, the Turner Contemporary which is usually an art gallery, has the most beautiful modern space full of natural light amazing views. The reception space has panoramic windows that frame the captivating Margate coastline, and also offers a private terrace for your guests to enjoy.

Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve
If you are an animal lover then this one is for you! Port Lympne is Kent’s largest wildlife park. Home to some of world most endangered and beautiful animals and the county’s only safari experience. This incredible 600 acre country estate is also an award winning wedding venue! Couples and their guests can even enjoy a private safari after their ceremony to see free roaming wild animals or get up close and personal with their favourite animal with an exclusive animal encounter! They also offer some of most beautiful different locations within the park to hold your ceremony. Spend your wedding night either star gazing at The Bubble, or curling up together in a shepherd’s hut, or even sleeping within a whisker of tigers or lions in a luxury lodge. Port Lympne is a truly unique wedding venue and one your guests wont be forgetting in a hurry.
